A quality school in Portland, Oregon?

topic posted Mon, July 16, 2007 - 1:54 AM by  Shirak
I'm looking for a quality school in my town. I might have a few to look at, but any recommendations would be really helpful. I believe that I'm looking for southern style as opposed to northern, but I'm open.

If you want quality in Portland then you need Sifu Lee in Vancouver Wa (about 6 miles from City)
Lee's Academy of Chinese Martial arts 2200 Broadway Suite N Vancouver Wa (360) 699-6195
you are very lucky to be moving here. I moved here from Seattle to take classes from him

There is a Chinese Shaolin Center up in Potland there under the remote guidance of Grandmaster Sin Kwang The .
I have studied on and off for about 5 years at a branch in Albuquerque NM. You will see empty hand, animal, internal, and weapons styles that have vitually no limit---drunken, tai chi,... both southern and northern styles are offered. pretty mind blowing google Chinese shaolin center portland and you will surely find it. Good luck on your journey to self mastery

Sifu lee is a prodigy. He holds a 5th degree black sash in 3 styles (Seven star mantis, Hung-gar, Bak/San Woo Xing Chuan Pai aka Northern AND Southern 5 animals fist ) and a 8th degree black in Li Family Northern Shaolin Fist style aka Iron Budda fist style or 6 divine immortal palms Despite being very famous in china this is an extremely "closed" style (he was youngest of only 10 disciples taught under the headmaster of the style 9th degree master Li Mao Ting). (note :This is not Li gar the southern style and family of the same name)
I say check out the schools and more importantly the students because they are the best judge of a masters ability to transmit skill.
Also he is an expert or instructor level in ba gua, taichi, xing-yi, Bak mei and about 5 other chinese styles.
